Product Description

This painting is about the little willy wagtail bird we call “Jidi-jidi” in our Wajarri language.
They are believed to have a spiritual nature for Aboriginal people of the Midwest WA. Aboriginal
people believe that when they present themselves to you, it’s known to bring messages and are bearer of bad news.
He follows you around and always dancing around you with his cheerful chirping. He worships the
full moon when it’s mating season, he makes his calls all night for hours because he is causing
diversion away from its nesting eggs.
When he follows people they get uneasy because they don’t want bad news.
