“I’ve been painting on and off for over twenty years with acrylic/water-based paint on pre-stretched canvas. I only paint ‘natural’ landscape with no man-made objects or structures such as buildings and roads, no people or animals. The places I paint are mostly from the Midwest and in my mother and fathers’ ancestral homelands.

In my work and own time, I travelled the Midwest and visited places significant to Nhanda and Widi people. My work included Land Management and Native Title tasks and I took photo images I reference for my paintings – but by saying so – I like to paint a generalised idea of a place, and not to be too exact. I tend to ‘slap it on’ and do take creative license.”
