Yamaji Art attended the 2nd National Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander Suicide Prevention conference and 2018 World Indigenous Suicide Prevention Conferences.
The Indigenous Suicide Prevention Conference was an international event that encouraged Indigenous nations worldwide to gather and validate Our cultural norms and realities, whilst looking at how we contribute to reducing suicide and solutions that work and promote the strength of Indigenous led suicide prevention program.’
It was such an honour to be in the presence of not only our First Nation healers but international visiting healers as well.
Yamaji Art’s junior gallery assistant Lily-mae Kerley, Roni Jones Yamaji Arts Manager presented alongside Alicia Bellotti and her daughter Maiesha Bellotti
The presentation was Youth focused and gave a youth perspective on community based empowerment models when working in our communities.
With our support by Yamaji Art, Lily present a session about the recent project Yamaji Art has done through the Yamaji Girl initiative. Amazing an achievement for these two young women at such a tender age of 18 years of age!
