This painting is about the two rivers or Wila. Gutharra as the locals call it; the Greenough & Chapman Rivers of Geraldton. The Chapman River has spiritual significant to Amangu & Naaguja people.My father worked on Urawa Station & Wandina Station north of Mullewa and when travelling to the Stations we had to cross the Greenough River where we had many family outings and cook ups. I didn’t realise that it was the same river out at Greenough or Cape Burney until I was an adult.
