As a child my family lived in Mullewa. The only place we could swim at was the local swimming pool or walk to the waterfalls for a swim. Summer was spent at either one of these places but mostly the local swimming pool. Sometimes I went to Geraldton to stay with my Aunty & cousins for the holidays and my cousins would go to the town beach swimming, there was a different vibe going to the beach. Feeling salt in my hair and sand between my toes was exciting and fun. The main things I remember were banksia’s, the lighthouse and the ocean.
