Geraldton Guardian feature article on the Walking with the Stars fashion shoot. Yamaji Art created limited edition leggings based the Walking with the Stars collection which forms a part of the “Shared Sky” exhibition.
This exhibition aims to draw upon the multicultural fabric of Perth, the multiplicity of distinct cultures from around the world, a tapestry full of food traditions related to gathering, creating and serving a meal. These edible experiences come laden with tales of migration, homecoming, meeting places, and personal adaptation.
The Luminous Dreams project was developed by the Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Visual Arts (UWA) and the Australian Urban Design Research Centre with the generous support of the City of Greater Geraldton.

On Tuesday 13 August, Yamaji Art’s Gemma Merritt was announced as runner up for the 2013 SKA Art Prize for her piece, Orien’s Belt at the official opening of the SEEING STARS exhibition in Melbourne.
