Sheryl Green
Badimaya Sherryl Green was born in Mount Magnet but grew up on her ancestral country in Mount magnet and later in Mullewa, Western Australia. Sherryl pursued her first contemporary artistic endeavours by joining Yamaji Art Centre in 2012, and through this membership was able to participate in professional development opportunities in the art mediums of weaving, textiles and collages. Green was recently included in the international exhibition “Shared Sky” curated by Chris Malcolm at John Curtain Gallery, Perth WA.
This exhibition travelled internationally to south Africa, Europe, Asia, USA, Canada and New Zealand in the next two years. Green continues to pursue developing her contemporary emerging art practice in weaving and especially in the art practice of collage and weaving of images often done in a collaborative process with her sister Jennifer Green.
Sherryl loves the idea of slicing up images and redesigning into another imagine, she is currently living in Geraldton and represented by Yamaji Art Centre in Geraldton.
